Juri

Learning Japanese can be challenging, but these lessons make it a great experience. I especially appreciate the patient support; I never feel bad for not knowing something, as Juri always helps me find my way. The weekly rhythm provides exactly the push I need to maintain my daily study routine. It’s been a game-changer for my progress!

Juri is the best Japanese teacher on italki. She is patient during conversations, uses real life examples and materials and is open to studying/explaining anything the student wants. Her fluent English and understanding of western culture enable her to explain grammar and concepts in an easy to understand way.

I've been taking regular lessons with Juri for the last 5-6 months now and am very happy with my choice of teacher. I started with zero knowledge of the Japanese language, but felt I had good guidance to now being able to speak (a little bit), read and write hiragana and katakana, and some kanji. Juri expects that I take my studies seriously, but I never feel pressured if I can’t finish something or forget some words here and there, which helps me feel comfortable with the learning process and lets me enjoy learning without worrying too much about mistakes or pronunciation holding me back. Now that I understand the basics, she focuses more on conversation at the beginning of each lesson and notes down any vocabulary I don’t know so I can study it afterward. This has been incredibly helpful, as speaking a new language has always been a hurdle for me, but I feel comfortable and at ease during our lessons. I can’t wait to speak Japanese fluently one day! ありがとうございました、先生！
