Can’t believe I’m pushing almost 1 year of learning Japanese with Mizuho san (stated June 2025). I like the hand picked topics that tee up every session, which is different every time and pushes me for realtime thinking. The diligent note taking from Mizuho san is a HUGE value-add which I particularly appreciate, as I can feed those notes to AI, and understand my particular weakness and options to improve. This is helpful because it allows me to maximize the 1 hour with Mizuho san to practice my speaking language skills. I have seen significant improvement over my skills, noticeably fewer mistakes, and more confident speaking with my Japanese friends and colleagues, not limited to daily chitchat but occasional work related topics.

I’ve completed 20 lessons with Mizuho sensei since Feb’25 and have truly benefited from my weekly speaking lessons with her. While I still have lots of room for improvement, I definitely feel more confident in my spoken Japanese compared to when I first started. I’m also able to respond and form sentences in response to our conversations more easily now. Mizuho sensei provides a very safe environment for learning and making mistakes, and also encourages me to attempt longer and more complex sentences so that I can be more comfortable with the language. I highly recommend Mizuho sensei for anyone eager to improve their Japanese language skills. みずほせんせいのおかげで私の日本語の会話力がもっとよくになって来ました。最初と比べて今が自信を持っていて、毎週のレッスンに楽しみにしています！

Mizuho-Sensei is an amazing teacher! She’s very patient, kind, and helpful! She corrects all of my mistakes and helps me speak more naturally!

Mizuho sensei’s lessons strike a great balance between fun and genuinely thorough language learning. She prepares each lesson with great care, for example by choosing interesting, currently trending topics in Japan and coming up with thoughtful questions, or creating detailed business role plays. She is very encouraging and excellent at creating a relaxed, fun environment while also providing detailed feedback that helps you take the next step in your speaking ability. After each lesson, she shares the corrections we covered and even provides shadowing practice based on what we discussed. I also like her straight-to-the-point approach: kind, efficient, and she gets a lot done in a single lesson. I would highly recommend Mizuho sensei to anyone who wants to sound more natural and speak Japanese with real confidence in professional and real-world settings.

Mizuho先生 offered wonderful advice about what is expected during a Japanese interview and patiently helped me think of what I can do to prepare, including how I can reword what I could say in more natural, business-like Japanese. I am looking forward to taking more of her classes in the future!
