Yevgeniya is a fantastic teacher. She assigns great pre lesson assignments and then works hard the whole lesson. I worked hard for 90 minutes, and when it was done I didn’t want the lesson to end! She’s just wonderful.

To arrive with empty hands is a disgrace! Another fantastic lesson with Evgeniya, exploring the etiquette of visiting in Russia. Guests are supposed to bring something "for the table" and often leave, not only full, but with a container for later! All very competently navigated and explained by my wonderful teacher. If you thought you could get away with bringing a bottle of plonk - think again, когда ты ходишь в гостн!

So glad to have Evgeniya back from her holiday! Another fantastic lesson, this time about Russian railways and Russina railway habits. It makes me want to get on the Transiberian Raiway straight away (1 week's journey)!

What I love about my lessons with Evgeniya is that each week I am transported to a little corner of Russia. It's like travelling! This week the Moscow coffee culture was revealed, with Russian habits and peculiarities. There is no longer Starbucks there but there is a "Stars"! Some places do not allow you to work; in others you can work but - it's not quite the done thing. And who pays for coffee on a first date? Well - you do, of course! A brilliant and multifaceted, colourful lesson...

Th etrain journey from last week has taken us to the Russian countryside with forests and - mushroom gathering! A national passtime in Russia which give everyone an opportunity to get some fresh air and socialise with friends and family. All, as usual, brought to life in a lovely way by Evgeniya, as we delve into the intricacies of choosing, preparing and cooking mushrooms!
