I’m Azusa, a certified Japanese teacher based in Tokyo. I passed the Japanese Language Teaching Competency Test and also studied English in Canada, so I understand both the challenges and the joy of learning a new language. My lessons focus on real, natural Japanese used in everyday life — not just textbook Japanese. Although my lessons are conversation-based, they are not just free talk. I carefully listen and help students express what they truly want to say in natural Japanese. Many students tell me: “I feel relaxed speaking with you.” “I can speak more naturally now.” For beginners, I can also provide structured lessons using textbooks such as “Minna no Nihongo” and “Irodori.” I can help with: ・Conversation practice ・Pronunciation correction ・JLPT preparation ・Travel Japanese ・Kansai dialect ・Coaching-style sessions in Japanese Mistakes are always welcome — that’s how we improve 😊 Let’s enjoy learning Japanese together in a relaxed and supportive environment!

Azusa-sensei is a wonderful conversationalist who is very fun and easy to talk to. She is patient, encouraging, and is able to help you figure out how to say whatever it is that you're trying to communicate. She provides great explanations and useful example sentences for new words which makes learning a lot easier. I highly recommend her!

Azusa sensei is a wonderful Japanese teacher. She has been such a help for my wife and I. She is very patient even when we just get stumped and helps us push through without resorting to English to explain it to us. I would highly recommend her as a teacher without any reservations.

Very good class. Explained everything very well. Extremely encouraging and makes things so fun. I'm learning from probably one of the most boring types of JLPT study textbook possible, but I look forward to every lesson with Azusa-san.
