I've had a few lessons now with Shuwen and I enjoy her teaching style. We usually start by brief review of old materials and then add more topics each lesson. The lessons are very well structured, plus she also provides all materials after class for review and reference. Overall I am very happy and definitely recommend studying Mandarin with her.

I have always felt a close relationship with Shuwen, as my teacher. She includes me in her family, and keeps me abreast of all changes in her family.

Teacher Shuwen is using a functional-notional approach in teaching . She uses Vocabulary Acquisition : ( eg: parents, siblings, children, grandchildren) Sentence Structure : (eg: I have ( number) children) Guided Production: (she is moving the student from passive learning to active ) Correction and Fluency: (She is listening for correct tone as I speak.
