Dioni is an excellent, engaging and patient teacher! Because of his linguistics background, he is able to break down complex Icelandic grammar concepts into approachable pieces for the beginner, and then challenge you to use these concepts in ordinary conversation. He is also flexible and able to adapt his teaching and style to the student's particular goals for the lesson. Classes are always animated and fun!

Mómó is a fantastic Icelandic teacher with amazing resources and always has interesting insights into Icelandic culture. I feel comfortable asking questions and discussing any topic. In my fourth lesson, we reviewed previous lesson material and moved right along into learning new grammar and vocabulary. I´m really learning a lot during each session! After a 25-day streak of studying Birgir's Anki decks, I can now form some basic sentences and try responding to small talk. I can only imagine what big strides I could achieve in Icelandic as I continue taking lessons while studying new cards in between. I am very happy and satisfied to have started classes with Birgir this year. Looking forward to the next year!

Learned a lot today! Margret was super helpful as always. Stundum, I feel like I ask (of mikið?) too many questions en Margret is always just so patient. Takk, Margret for putting up with me and for taking the time to share some really useful tips and tricks! For example, it was very cool of Margret to teach me how to easily spot the gender of adjectives in response to one of my questions, even if it wasn't actually part of the chapter that we were on [-x (fem), -ur (masc.), and -t (neut.) FTW! 🙌 ]. 😊

Magnus does a phenomenal job of helping me push myself to learn while still encouraging me and increasing my confidence in my grammar and language skills. Being able to practice pronounciation out loud and ask questions about grammar and phrases in real time has been indispensable. Each lesson is so fun the time just flies by.

It was an excellent first lesson! Thora messaged me an hour before so that I knew that we were on schedule and she took time during the lesson to find out what I needed and how I wanted to proceed. I learnt more in that 30 minutes than I had in several hours of listening to my previous course alone! Plus the reassurance that I was getting the pronunciation corrected as I went along and some useful homework. I am looking forward to the next lesson already.
