We will focus on the writing and speaking parts of the IELTS exam together. These classes are for students in COLLEGE or UNIVERSITY higher education only (not high-school students). We can work on any area of English you choose to, whether it be conversation (speaking & listening), reading or writing. 
Most STUDENTS are looking for help in preparation for Academic IELTS to study abroad. Speaking practise is the most popular. We follow the exam format and cover as broad a range of topics as possible which can be divided into people, places, routines and activities, as well as objects. Part 1 focuses on relaxation and rhythm, part 2 on descriptive storytelling, and part 3 on stating opinions supported by reasoning and examples.
For the IELTS writing, we analyse your essays together in class for task achievement, structural coherence, grammar and use of vocabulary.
From time-to-time, students also ask me to help them with the IELTS reading where I place focus on developing the ability to switch between skim reading, scanning and intensive reading. 

Other exam preparation is also available such as CAMBRIDGE, TOEFL etc.

University Students' English

Classes are for any young student, aged 3 - 18 years old. My Young Student’s classes are STUDENT-CENTRED, tailored to your child to ensure they are FUN, ENJOYABLE and INTERESTING at the APPROPRIATE LEVEL OF ABILITY, boosting their MOTIVATION to learn. 
Classes usually start out with conversation (speaking and listening) using questions matched to their level of comprehension, to explore their range of ability. I might incorporate singing and story reading if they are younger. 
I like to introduce reading with PHONICS as soon as possible using the Oxford Reading Tree Songbirds series to develop their pronunciation and vocabulary. 
For students with strong basic reading skills, we can explore reading material that matches their ability with their interests. 
Writing exercises are excellent for homework and later review in class, to develop spelling and grammar. 
I also provide preparation for exams such as Cambridge, starting from the Young Learners English (YLE) all the way up.

Lessons for Children

I have a lot of experience in helping people prepare for IELTS. My lessons primarily focus on the Speaking and Writing parts of the test but I can also help you prepare for Listening and Reading if required. I use a variety of materials that are specifically designed to help you prepare for the IELTS test. 

 Throughout the course we will also practice many current IELTS speaking questions to aid your development of the necessary skills and confidence to excel in the exam.

 Homework would be assigned after each lesson allowing you to complete a current IELTS writing test question which would be marked before the next class.

I have helped over 100 students prepare for the IELTS test, all of whom have made improvements in their English, many have improved their overall scores by 0.5-1.0, some have reached an overall score of 8.5.

IELTS Speaking/Writing/Listening/Reading Preparation

Do you need to take PTE or TOEFL or TOEIC  exams? I have a lot of experience and success in helping students and professionals do that.

In this course I will help you prepare for all parts of the exam you plan to take, resources and materials will be provided and the lessons will be tailored to your individual needs.

 After each class, homework for the writing part of the test will be assigned. I will check and correct the homework and we will discuss your written work in each following class. Practice reading and listening tests will also be assigned as homework as needed.

If you’ve been struggling with your IELTS writing, or been stuck at a specific band mark, then look no further. I’ve helped hundreds if not thousands achieve their IELTS writing goals, and you’re no exception! 

I offer 2 kinds of lessons for both General and Academic:

1)IELTS Writing Lessons 

In these lessons, I will teach you all about the different question types, the requirements of the tasks, how marks are given, and tips on how to get the band mark you are aiming for. I will go in depth into the marking criteria. This will give you a clear idea exactly what you need to do to get the band mark you want. I also clarify the most common mistakes that are made that limit the band mark of most students.

2)Feedback on Writing

In these lessons, I ask for writing 2 days in advance, 2-4 written tasks, task 1s or 2s. I correct the writing for grammatical and lexical mistakes before the lesson, and throughout the lesson I clarify the mistakes made in all 4 criteria (TA, CC, LR, and GRA) in accordance with the public band descriptors, which is a public document shared by IELTS that explains the requirements. I give advice on how to improve, and further study. 

In a 1 hour lesson, I can give feedback on 2-3 written tasks. In 30 minutes. Any unfinished tasks can be covered in the following lesson.

After the lesson

After the lesson, I send a message with a summary of the main points made in the lesson, and for the feedback I send a document with a correction of the grammatical and lexical mistakes, and highlighted parts for the other types of mistakes. I also send resources for further study.

I also worked as an ESP teacher preparing police officers from Libya to take courses with the UK's NCA (National Crime Agency) using Macmillan's English for Law Enforcement.

Teaching English as a second language to grade 5 and 6 students. I taught from the English World coursebook by Macmillan and workbook. I also taught reading comprehension and writing skills to prepare the students for Cambridge international examinations.

The job includes teaching ESOL to children who are in care, preparing them for entry into public schools. Many of the children have social and emotional problems and also need help building their confidence to enable them to deal with life at school. The teaching was face-2face. Book this lesson if you are interested in a structured approach to learning. Firstly, we will identify your English level and the areas which you would like to improve upon. This could be speaking, reading, writing, or listening skills. We will work together to improve your confidence and fluency in English while working on expanding your vocabulary and learning new idioms, expressions, and phrasal verbs.
