Our trial lesson will focus on us getting to know each other and seeing if we're a good match! You will be able to practice your conversation skills and tell me your goals and expectations as a student. I will also give you corrections, feedback, and teaching if you would like me to, so that you can get an idea of my teaching style.

Like a chat with a friend, but educational! :) We can talk about anything you'd like; if there's a particular topic/video/article you'd like to chat about, please send it to me ahead of the lesson. If not, I'll pick something myself and we'll see where it takes us. I have lots of lesson plans ready with short readings and conversation questions about topics like travel, food, age, money, beauty, as well as more specific topics.

We can also just talk freely if that's what you prefer

I give constructive feedback throughout the lesson, including corrections, relevant grammar teaching, vocabulary, pronunciation and intonation, idioms, and natural language.

Homework can also be given after the lesson if you'd like.

Conversation (Topics or Free Talk)

I offer Business English classes with structured lessons that cover skills from introducing yourself and accepting/declining invitations, to expressing ideas in meetings and interview skills.

I'll give you lots of opportunities to talk about your own job and role, and to discuss things happening in your company. I'll give you constructive feedback throughout, like corrections, grammar teaching, and relevant vocabulary, so that you can speak about your job and business-related topics in a fluent and natural way.

The lessons are able to be adapted to your specific goals, needs, or interests. For example, if you have an important English presentation coming up, we can practice and improve both the content and your speaking, pronunciation, and presentation skills. If you have an English job interview coming up, we can work on your answers and interview skills.

As we get to know each other, I will also be able to incorporate ways to make the lessons more tailored to you, your job/industry, and your professional goals

Business English (structured Business lessons, presentation help, interview preparation, etc.)

With this lesson type, you will receive lessons personalised to your specific needs: we can learn vocabulary for a specific occupation, study specific academic topics, or whatever you need to achieve your more niche language goals.

Although this qualification did not have an in-class component, it taught me a lot of what I needed to know about English grammar, teaching methodology, how to teach different ages, gauge and teach different ability levels, how to teach specialised English, how to design courses and materials, correct errors, and build rapport.

I was a full-time native English teacher at a premier English academy for adults in the business district of Seoul. I taught 1-on-1 classes to CEOs, business professionals, professors, and university students, including business English, IELTS, TOEIC, and OPIc test preparation, meeting/interview/presentation preparation, and conversational English. I was responsible for all aspects of students' learning and progression, as well as consulting with other teachers and management
