This is a trial lesson to see if you'd like to take classes with me. We will go over what your needs are for the language and also what you hope to get out of our lessons. You will also get a taster of how I like to teach, as well as how I adapt and tailor the lesson to each student's needs, whether that is a structured lesson or more of a conversation class.

Focus: Building a solid English foundation

Description: This will go over more of the building blocks of the English language. From vocabulary to grammar to the 4 skills (listening, reading, speaking & writing). For students who want a clear pathway to improvement.

Using my expertise in professional tutoring, I will be breaking down different English concepts into simple, manageable chunks. Whether you're preparing for an exam or simply want to use English confidently and accurately, this is for you.

Structured English Lesson

For those wanting to improve fluency and spoken English skill. This will be either a free-style conversation class or topics based. If topics-based I can provide the topics or you can. This is the perfect bridge between how people usually speak in the UK and textbook English.

What you will get:

Tailored feedback on fluency and pronunciation
New words and phrases to be written down and sent after class
Exposure to British English how it is usually spoken - including use of idioms and slang

Due to the conversational-nature of the class, at least a high A2 - Low B1 English level is highly recommended.

English Conversation Class (Free conversation/ topics-based)

As an accomplished learner of 4 languages (Cantonese, Mandarin, Hakka & BSL), this will go over the techniques you can use to improve your English that I have personally used to reach these levels myself. This is because as I have discovered, most of the work happens in between classes. 

I will create your own personalised self-study plan for you. These include methods such as:

Graded readers
Immersion & Comprehensible input
SRS Flashcards
Writing short texts

This is to take the guesswork out of learning by yourself from someone who has done it 4 times over. 

Due to the nature of this class, this class can also be delivered in Cantonese or Mandarin, as well as the default: English. Also, the techniques here can be applied to any language, not just English.

•	Modules taken included all aspects of physics from electrodynamics to final year project on the Higgs Boson
•	Part of the course such as communicating science and the oral presentation of the final year project taken helped shape what it means to present and communicate science.

• 	A role dealing with the public; payment is taken from each person and stickers are handed out in order to facilitate language exchange.
• 	Often working with foreign and international people whose first language is a language other than English, meaning I have a good understanding of the needs of non-native English speakers.
• 	Organising and hosting this event gives me a foundation in being able to plan and host different events.
• 	Advertising and marketing via social media for the event

•	Each lesson was planned and delivered, mainly from text books and available past papers to encourage and grow the student's understanding of the subject's material. Online material was also taught on occasions in lessons and given out as homework.
•	Student's were motivated in many different ways from starting at a place that they feel comfortable to challenging them when felt appropriate. Aim is for the student to enjoy Maths themselves through my passion & enthusiasm.
