Through this class, I want to help you to make the leap to listening to podcasts created for native speakers. The Off Menu podcast is one of my favourites - it's two comedians chatting to celebrity guests about their dream meal. The language can be challenging and the conversations can get a bit whacky so I'm here to decode the nonsense! 

The great thing is that this podcast comes with a transcript which means you can read along or just use it to reference a tricky sentence. The presenters are English but their guests come from all over, making it ideal for exposing yourself to the rich variety of accents and expressions that make up the English language. 

This is a light-hearted way to immerse yourself in English!

Advanced Podcast Club - The Off Menu Podcast

My approach is based on the "acquired system" - a method that allows you to learn English the way children learn their first language - through immersion and use.

In my classes I don't focus on grammar, instead I provide you with engaging listening and reading materials, which will build your vocabulary and comprehension skills. 

Before each class, you'll write a short summary to present to me in class. I'll give you feedback and then, we'll discuss the topic - a perfect opportunity to practice and review everything you've learned.

With this approach you won't notice that you're learning English grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation, because you'll be engaged in the topic. The relaxed and supportive atmosphere will help you feel confident to speak and make mistakes - the key to effective language learning.
