Choosing the right test:
There are two IELTS tests available – IELTS Academic or IELTS General Training. The test you choose should be based on what it is you want to do.

IELTS Academic - measures whether your level of English language proficiency is suitable for an academic environment. It reflects aspects of academic language and evaluates whether you’re ready to begin training or studying.

IELTS General Training - measures English language proficiency in a practical, everyday context. The tasks and tests reflect both workplace and social situations.

Who owns IELTS?
IELTS is jointly owned by the British Council, IDP: IELTS Australia and Cambridge Assessment English.

IELTS (International English Language Testing System) - English Test Preparation

TEF Canada is mainly for Canadian citizenship and many university admissions use TEF scores.

TCF Canada is mainly for obtaining permanent residency and is more versatile, for people with various goals (study and work).

The DILF, or "Diplôme initial de langue française", tests the lowest level of French, categorised as A1.1. This level is appropriate for someone just starting to learn French, thus the name of the test: "Initial diploma of the French language". It is predominantly taken by migrants to France with little to no French exposure, particularly those who may not be fully literate in their native tongue. As opposed to the DELF and the DALF, the DILF prioritises spoken and listening communication and comprehension over written and reading communication and comprehension.

The DELF, or "Diplôme d’études en langue française", is the test that will concern most French learners, as it tests levels from A1 through to B2, covering beginner and intermediate learners. Within the DELF category of tests are four different exams. When opting to take the DELF, you will have to choose amongst the DELF A1, DELF A2, DELF B1 or DELF B2 tests, as each test is specially tailored to students of that level. The DELF is one of the most useful diplomas to have, particularly when applying for French jobs or for French university degrees. Most undergraduate and graduate programs require a B2 diploma, though some undergraduate programs accept B1. B1 and B2 are also the levels that most French workplaces require if your job is going to include a moderate amount of French.

The DALF, or "Diplôme approfondi de langue française", is the advanced language diploma. Two DALF tests exist: one for level C1, and the other for level C2. A C1 is required by some master’s and doctorate programs. Earning a C2 diploma usually requires at least several months of immersive learning as well, meaning that someone with a C2 level has likely already attended French university or worked in a French job.

I obtained this work contract to do office work in Takeaway.com, which gave me experience in all aspects of their business, and I was then able to pass on this knowledge to new employees, as I was asked to mentor and coach them, thereby enabling me to gain teaching experience in all those areas of their business.

I was appointed to the position of School Choir Director to teach children how to sing together, in a properly coordinated way, in preparation for a school singing presentation. This enabled me to gain experience teaching children in a specific subject area and preparing them to perform well in their school production.

To receive this attestation, I prepared tests, exercises and exams for university students in CTS University from 2002 to 2003. I then helped prepare those students to successfully pass those tests, exercises and exams in preparatory classes beforehand. I was also the examiner who conducted those tests, exercises and exams with the students at the time that they were actually doing them.
