Business Communication (job interviews, meetings, negotiations, etc.)

This workshop was organized by the National Erasmus+ Office in Armenia with cooperation of other institutions, including foreign, as usual.
The workshop was particularly important as it taught how to write effective project proposals under the Erasmus+ programme. What I gained there can really be useful not only for applying for the Erasmus+ projects.

On May 5, 2021, I participated in a webinar on " From theory to practice: activities for any classroom" by Pearson English. The webinar focused on how different theories that underlie what we do in the classroom and how we can apply what we know about language learning to more effectively help learners in both the face-to-face and online teaching environment.

On April 14, 2021, I participated in a webinar on "An Introduction to Learner Agency Session 1" organized by Oxford University Press ELT. In this session, the importance of supporting learner agency in today’s classroom was discussed and the role of the teacher in nurturing independent learners with a lifelong investment in learning was explored.

On February 18, 2021 I participated in a webinar on "Introducing the new Teacher Guides supporting learners with dyslexia: for learners preparing for the Cambridge English Qualifications from Pre A1 Starters to B2 First for Schools". The session offered practical take-away tips, activities and techniques for teachers to try in class with learners preparing for exam levels from the Pre A1 Starters up to B2 First for Schools.

On April 28, 2021, I participated in a webinar on "Designing for Agency in the Digital Classroom Session 2" organized by Oxford University Press ELT.
The session was devoted to explaining how we can adapt our approach and practice to help learners develop their agency, giving them a sense of control and ownership over their learning.

On May 4, 2021, I participated in a webinar on "Formative assessment: the principles and practicalities of assessing young learners’ English skills from a distance" organized by Pearson English. This session explored the secrets to successful remote testing for young learners, and how a straightforward and genuinely engaging test can not only facilitate a stress-free experience for young learners, their parents and their teachers – but also deliver the most valuable insights.

On April 29, 2021, I participated in a webinar on "Our fun new game in Minecraft: helping young learners build their language skills" organized by Cambridge Assessment English.
Joined by Minecraft experts the webinar, was devoted to sharing how to integrate our approach to learning alongside the principles of games design in order to create an immerse experience for language learners.

On May 6, 2021, I participated in a webinar on "Exams, preparation and remediation in a digital world" by Pearson English. The webinar focused on the research from English language learners and teachers about their motivations and concerns in achieving their goals during the times they cannot be in the classroom.

On March 25, 2021, I participated in a webinar on "Helping teachers talk to parents: A2 Key, B1 Preliminary and B2 First – for Schools exams" organized by Cambridge Assessment English.
At the webinar, the value of assessment, how to tell if your learners are ready to take exams, and how to discuss each learner’s progression with their parents were discussed.

In 2019, I participated in a very engaging and productive online course on "Teaching for Outcomes: A course in higher education pedagogy".

I think that this online course conducted by a representative of a Spanish organization will help me to better conduct my lessons and implement effective classroom management and communication with my students.
I've also participated in some other workshops, seminars and conferences and received certificates.

In June 2015, I participated in the Fourth Annual Student Research Conference, organized by College of Humanities and Social Sciences MA TEFL Program and Center for Research in Applied Linguistics at the American University of Armenia.

On May 4, 2021, I participated in a webinar on "Hybrid learning - tips & tricks (to move forward)" organized by Pearson English. The session touched upon how teachers and students worldwide are coping with extended hybrid learning and what we can do to make it easier and more effective. Topics such as engagement and motivation, as well as how to adapt methodology and processes were covered.

On March 11, 2021, I participated in a webinar on "Helping young learner teachers talk to parents: Pre A1 Starters, A1 Movers and A2 Flyers" organized by Cambridge Assessment English. During the webinar, the value of assessment was discussed; and also how to tell if your learners are ready to take exams, and how to discuss each learner’s progression with their parents.

In August and September 2024, I took a TEFL course on Teaching Business English (30 hours), organized by the TEFL Academy. On September 12, I received my certificate. The course was about modern teaching methods that apply to teaching business English for specific purposes and industries.

On March 25, 2021, I participated in a webinar on "Getting the most from your test data session 2" during which the data we get from language tests used in the language classroom were introduced. The kinds of analysis that can be performed on the data, and the kinds of decisions that can be made using that data were also discussed at the webinar.

On May 5, 2021, I participated in a webinar on "The Challenges of teaching in pandemic times" by Pearson English. The webinar focused on how teachers can cope with the situation and help students learn.

When in 2017 I got a job at the University as a specialist of the Education Quality Assurance Center I was sent to a training on "Study Program: Anticipated Learning Outcomes and Student Assessment", organized by the National Center for Professional Education Quality Assurance Foundation (ANQA).
The certificate is in my native Armenian.

The training was particularly important as it taught me how to achieve learning outcomes and assess students.

I've participated in a lot of Erasmus+ conferences and received certificates.
This was yet another interesting and useful seminar organized by the National Erasmus+ Office in Armenia.

On May 5, 2021, I participated in a webinar on "One year on: adapting your self-care" by Pearson English. It touched upon the issue how social and technological stressors have put our nervous systems under undue pressure.

On May 4, 2021 I participated in a webinar on "A year of online learning: what's working, what’s not" organized by Pearson English. It touched upon countless challenges, including access to technology, adequate training, and the need to tailor presentation strategies, learning materials, and assessments.

In August 2024, I took a TEFL course on Teaching English to Young Learners (30 hours), organized by the TEFL Academy. On September 5, I received my certificate. The course was about modern teaching methods that apply to young learners.

On February 25-27, 2021, I participated in English Language Teaching Online Conference 2021 organized by the Oxford University Press ELT. The sessions were devoted to modern teaching methods and challenges.

On February 4, 2021, I participated in a webinar on "More ideas: How to teach an exam class for B2 First for Schools and C1 Advanced" organized by Cambridge Assessment English. During the webinar, I learned some useful tips that can be practiced in teaching.

On January 25-26, 2024, I took part in Erasmus+ SIN-NEC project kick-off meeting in Teramo, Italy towards internationalization of universities and received a certificate.

On May 6, 2021, I participated in "Round table open forum on Hybrid Learning" by Pearson English.

On April 15, 2021, I participated in a webinar on "Mock Test Toolkit - our new guide to advise how, why and when to run mock tests" organized by Cambridge Assessment English.
The webinar was devoted to giving learners a real-life exam day experience.

In October 2017, I participated in the seminar and workshop "Tracking the Progression Path of Students and Graduates at Higher Education Institutions" organized by the National Erasmus+ Office in Armenia and received a certificate.

I've a Bachelor's Degree in "Linguistics" (Englsih) and Master's Degree in Pedagogy in the field of "Foreign Language and Literature". I've graduated from Yerevan Brusov State University of Languages and Social Sciences (formerly Yerevan State University after V.Brusov), which is one of the most prestigious and leading universities of languages in Armenia. Besides English I studied French as a second foreign language. I also studied Russian.

In 2017, I got a job as an Officer at the Center for Development and Education Quality Assurance Center of a local University. I was responsible for ensuring the development process and quality of the university. I also carried out work-related translations and managed the social media group of CDEQA.

In 2015, I started working as a lecturer at a local university, teaching English to international students of different levels, ages and backgrounds, giving me extensive experience with diversity and inclusion. I also taught medical English to my students.
