The only way you will see real improvement in your language is if you use it! I want to give you the opportunity to use your language in a constructive and supportive environment. 
These lessons will focus on developing your conversation skills in a variety of topics and situations.

The general structure of the lessons will follow a similar style, depending on the topic and your level of knowledge I will recommend key vocabulary and sentence structures/frames to aid your communication. We will also use real life materials such as news articles, videos, blogs etc, to build your knowledge base and opinions on the subject. During the lessons I will prioritise good communication and highlight any grammatical errors that may need further development. 

I have an abundance of materials, however if you would like to follow a particular book I am also more than happy to develop some materials to support your needs. 

I want these lessons to be useful and interesting. I want you to be able to use what you learn in class in real life situations. For this reason I will tailor my lessons around you and find the best way to maximise your time so you get the most out of your language journey.

British English Conversation level B1 and above (Intermediate to Advanced)

Sometimes your accent can get in the way of being understood. 

In these lessons we will focus on your specific idiolect to identify areas for improvement. After we will tailor an exercise program to work on specific sounds along with audio and videos to help you practice your pronunciation.

My method is based on starting with small isolated sounds, then those sounds in words and finally using those words in sentences. It is important to understand how sounds are made and breaking down the movements in order to use your speech organs in a foreign way. 

Changing your pronunciation can be very challenging, but by making small changes and with a lot of practice you will start to hear noticeable results.

Pronunciation lessons - Accent reduction

The objective of these lessons will be to prepare you for all aspects of the FCE/CAE/CPE Exam (Reading & Use of English, Speaking, Listening and Writing). 

We will start with a Mock Cambridge Exam to see where we are starting and proceed from there. I will help you develop your exam strategy for each part of the exam, identify where you are losing points and how you can pick them up. 

I have an abundance of FCE/CAE/CPE materials at my disposal and want to share these with you. The FCE/CAE course books consist of 12 Units, we have the options to follow the book or pick and choose segments that would be beneficial to you.

FCE, CAE and CPE Exam preparation

I carried out this qualification along side my degree. I completed 120 hours of teaching at Portsmouth community college, teaching adults who were non-native speakers of English and had recently moved to the UK. Classes were all conducted in person as well as at Portsmouth University where I taught the foreign exchange students from China.

Applied Languages in Mandarin Chinese and Spanish languages. Modules focused on the acquisition of language, communication theory, translation, English language and others.

Teaching English to young Chinese learners (3 to 15 years old) with varying levels of proficiency from Beginners to G1A.

Britanica, English Training School, Bulgaria. August 2020 to May 2021. 
Teacher of Cambridge Advanced and First English exams. Students ranging from 16 and above. Preparing students for qualifications for higher education and English language B1 & B2 levels for adults.

Fastrack English Training School, Shanghai China. March 2019 to August 2020.
Teaching non-native speakers of English online and in the classroom, developing pronunciation and oral communication among students ranging from 3 to 6 years old.
