INTRODUCTION: Like meeting, mingling & connecting with others? You’re invited to join unique people from around the world interested in doing the same. Find it easy to do in your native language but more challenging in English? No worries. You’ll get suggestions of what to say and ask to engage in simple conversations with those you meet. Then, use them or your own to showcase your English conversation skills as you mingle among group members and foster connections to expand your network. You just might meet a new friend, English practice buddy, business partner or lead to a new venture. IN THIS CLASS: (1) You will introduce yourself by sharing general and interesting information about you to the whole group. (2) You will tell the group about any challenges you have with meeting others and what you hope to gain from this experience. (3) You will engage in simple conversations in pairs or trios in private rooms. (4) You will share your contact information to foster extended connections with group members. (5) You will share highlights from or thoughts about the experience with the group. THIS CLASS IS FOR: (1) Those 18 years old and older. (2) Those with good listening, speaking and processing skills. (3) Those who want to meet, mingle and connect with others. (4) Those who can engage in simple conversations. MATERIALS NEEDED: Meet, Mingle & Connect Student Pack: (download from lesson page) • Ideas to Engage in Simple Conversations Sheet • Group Member Note-taking Sheet PREPARATION: (1) Review the Meet, Mingle & Connect: Ideas to Engage in Simple Conversation Sheet. (2) Decide the name you prefer the teacher and group members to call you during the session, and enter it as your Display Name on Zoom. ***A copy of the Zoom chat with contact information shared by group members wishing to extend their connections with each other will be sent to each student after the session.
