How to form a question with "Tammai (why)" in Thai 😍

こんにちは～！マルハバ！サウジの日本語の先生、佳子です＾＾
みなさんー！お元気ですかー？私が住む地域ではもう真夏です！日中は40度近くありますよ～！でも今は全然マシです。早朝や日没後は過ごしやすいのでまだ公園に行けます。6月～9月になると日中は45度近くまであがり、湿度も高くなるので夜でも外で活動するのは難しくなります。
さて、今日は「サウジの学校」について話したいと思います。
息子は家から車で10分くらいの小さなインターナショナルスクールに通っています。息子が去年8月に小学校1年生になって6か月間、私は母子登校していたので、サウジのインターナショナルスクールについていろいろ知りました。またサウジの家族から昔の学校のことや息子のいとこが通う私立学校、いろいろなインターナショナルスクールを見学した経験から日本の一般的な学校との違いをお話ししますね～。
まずサウジの学校が始まる時間が早い！帰る時間が同じ！これは仕事が始まるのが8時前後だからというのがあるかもしれないですが、7-8時に始まる学校が多いです。日本だと8:20くらいです。日本だと小学校なら低学年は早く終わって、高学年は遅く終わることもありますが、サウジでは小学生なら同じ時間に帰ります。幼稚園や中学校、高校が同じ場所にある場合は、お迎えの時混むので帰る時間がずれます。日本では徒歩や自転車、公共交通機関やスクールバスで子供だけで学校に行くのが普通ですが、サウジでは幼稚園～中学校までは基本的にスクールバスを利用するか大人の送り迎えが必要です。暑いので近所の学校でない限り、車の利用が必須です。自転車通学は危ないのでないです。
学校の門には必ず男性警備員がいます。学校によっては男性が入れない場合があります。どうしても父親が校長や経理などと話す場合は許可を得て入ります。母親やメイドが教室までの送り迎えの際に入るのは大丈夫です。息子はときどき最初のクラスをスキップしたり、早く帰ったりするので、私は警備員さんにちょっと鍵を借りて自分で門をあけています。開けたら中が見えないようにすぐに閉めます。なぜか警備員さんがいないときに着いた場合は、入るのに誰かに連絡しています。帰りの時間になるとお迎え順で名前がアナウンスされます。息子の学校では建物ごとにスピーカーがあり、先生や生徒が聞こえるようになっています。他の学校では教室内にある電話を通して呼ばれます。息子の学校のお迎えルールは緩いので、普通の生徒でも毎日早く帰る人もいます。厳しい学校だとできるだけ授業の邪魔にならないように事前に校長に連絡し、許可をもらったら早く帰れるシステムのところもあります。大きい学校だとまた違う感じかもしれないですね。日本の小学校だと同じ学年だったら帰る時間は同じです。私の小学校～高校の記憶だと相当な理由がない限り、遅く来たり、早く帰る人はいなかったです。
日本の場合は「みんな同じ」と「オンタイム」が基本です。サウジの場合は個々の状況や好みを重視したり、時間に関しては日本よりは緩いです。息子の学校では7:20から校庭で集会があり、最初の授業は7:30から始まりますが、集会が長引いたり、7:40ごろに到着する生徒も多々います。
話すことが山ほどあるので続きはまた今度にしますね。


それでは今日のフレーズです。今日のフレーズは最初に出てきた「マシ」です。カタカナでマシと書く場合は、「他のひどい状況よりは良い」という意味です。今回の文では「45度になる6-9月に比べたら今はかなり良いほうだ」という意味です。「BよりはAのほうがマシ」のように「Bよりマシ」という使われ方やmuch betterの意味で「全然マシ」という表現もよく使われます。

昨日は七夕だった。七夕は７月７日の夜に織姫（おりひめ）と彦星（ひこぼし）が天の川（あまのがわ）で１年に１度会えるという伝説（でんせつ）だ。日本人は中国の「乞巧奠（きこうでん）」という行事（ぎょうじ）をもとに、願い事を書いた「短冊（たんざく）」を笹（ささ）に飾（かざ）り、お祈（いの）りをするという風習（ふうしゅう）がある。本来（ほんらい）、習い事（ならいごと）の上達（じょうたつ）を祈るために行（おこな）われていたそうだ。私はそれを知らずに、大人（おとな）になってからは「物がほしい」や「旅行に行きたい」などと書いた記憶がある。今は短冊にこう書きたい、“中国語がもっと上手（うま）くなりますように！”
