Halloween short story

Every night he disappears into the forest, and so one day, Scarlet decides to follow him. Along the way, she meets a guy named Ruben, who says he's a spy. Together, they spy on her uncle to see what he's hiding. Is he a murderer like her father says? Can Scarlet and Ruben uncover the truth behind her mysterious uncle?
