みなさんは「大阪のおばちゃん」という言葉を聞いたことがありますか。「大阪のおばちゃん」は、独特の濃いキャラクターを持っています。もちろん、大阪あるいは大阪周辺に住んでいます。今日は、大阪の近くに住んでいるわたしが、「大阪のおばちゃん」について話します。
Have you ever heard the word of  "Osaka no obachan"?   "Osaka no obachan" have a distinctive strong character. They live in Osaka and around Osaka. Today I, who live near Osaka, will talk about "Osaka no obachan".
～話の内容～
私は大阪まで電車で20分ほどで行けるところに住んでいます。
住んでいる場所によって、住んでいる人の様子や性格も違うと言われることがありますね。これは、ステレオタイプ的な話になるかもしれませんが、よく「大阪のおばちゃん」ということばで　ひとくくりにして言われることがあります。
では、「大阪おばちゃん」とは　どんな人なんでしょうか。よく言われるのが、「派手」「世話好き」「あめちゃんを必ず持っている」ということです。
「派手」というのは服装のことです。大阪のおばちゃんといえば「ヒョウ柄」と言われていたときがあります。動物の豹の柄をした服を着ているおばちゃんが多かったんです。最近は、ヒョウ柄こそあまり見かけませんが、カラフルで柄、パターンのはっきりしたものを好んで着る傾向が確かにあると思います。
「世話好き」というのは、困っている人がいたら、「どうしたん？」「だいじょうぶ？」「なんか手伝おうか」と声をかけるような人のことです。実際、私も大阪の駅で助けられたことがあります。ずいぶん前のことですが、仕事でめちゃくちゃ大きいスーツケースを持って、階段を上がっていたら、「持ってあげるわ」と声をかけてくれました。　そのスーツケースは普通よりサイズが大きくて、服のサンプルがたくさん入っていたので、とても重かったです。それなのに、そのおばちゃんは、ひょいっと軽そうに持って、一気に階段の上まで持って上がってくれたんです。当時の私はまだ若くてスリムだったので、その体格のいい大柄なおばさんがとても頼もしく見えたことを覚えています。今では、私の体格もそのおばさんに負けないくらい立派になってしましました。そして、困っている人を見ると、声をかけたくてうずうずしてしまいます。
「あめちゃん」はキャンディのことですが、大阪のおばちゃんに限らず、関西のおばちゃんはよく飴を持っています。飴の袋を鞄に入れて持ち歩いています。友だちと出かけて、電車に乗れば、「あめ、いる？」と聞かれることもよくあることです。知り合いじゃなくても、たまたま同じ場所にいた知らない人、だいたいは自分よりずっと若い人に、「飴、あげよ」と言って渡す人もいます。なぜかはわかりませんが…。私は知らない人に飴をあげることはありませんが、鞄の中にいつも飴が入っています。お腹がすいたときに、その飴を食べるので、非常食のようなものですね。
こんな風に、「大阪のおばちゃん」はキャラクターが濃いです。
でも、コロナのせいで　知らない人に声をかけることが　はばかられるようになってしまったように思います。日本人のほとんどは　マスクをして外出しているので、顔がはっきりわかりません。だから、誰かが困っていてもわかりにくいです。外で人からもらった飴を食べるのも、危険だと思う人もいるでしょう。早く、コロナがすっかりなくなって、元気な「大阪のおばちゃん」に戻ってきてほしいですね。

Nordic countries are often said to be some of the happiest in the world — and they may be some of the most sustainable places to visit too.

If you're not sure what it means to travel sustainably, the Global Destination Sustainability (GDS) Index may be able to help.

Now in its ninth year, it ranks places across the world based on things like destination management and environmental performance.

One hundred destinations were included in the 2024 index, with Helsinki in first place.

More than 50% of the Finnish capital's electricity is renewable, more than 30% of its buses are electric, and 49% of its waste is recycled.

Helsinki has also set a goal of being carbon neutral by 2030, and there are lots of green spaces around the city — almost 10,000 hectares per 100,000 people, according to Condé Nast Traveler.

Helsinki has previously ranked well in the GDS index, coming in fourth place in 2023, although this is the first time it's taken the top spot.

"Being named the world's most sustainable travel destination is proof of the long-term work that has been done in Helsinki," Helsinki Mayor Juhana Vartiainen said.

The other cities in the GDS' top five for 2024 are also in Nordic countries, with Gothenburg in second place. The city, which is in the west of Sweden, ranked first in 2023.

Copenhagen, Denmark, ranked third, Norway's Bergen came in fourth, and another Danish city, Arthus, was in fifth place.

Most of the top 20 cities were in Europe, too, with the exception of Singapore in seventh place, Sydney, Australia, in 10th place, and Goyang, South Korea, in 16th place.
