- Quand on est un gros père Rat, il faut faire manger toute sa petite famille. On cherche dans les poubelles et dans les fossés, mais attention aux graines empoisonnées! Personne ne nous aime. Pourtant, nous, nous aimons tous les rats!
Un matin, j'ai découvert un grenier rempli de blé jusqu'au plafond. J'ai amené toute ma petite famille et, depuis, nous habitons dans notre nourriture! C'est pratique: quand on a faim, on grignote un bout de notre maison!

As a beginner, there're some vocabularies that you didn't learn before, and native speaker's speed seems too fast to understand. But don't worry, let's do it step by step. 
1st time: listen and catch the words you know already, have a guess about the content.
2nd time: look at the text to check if you guessed it right. 
3rd time: listen one more time, repeat after it.
4th time: practice until you can speak as the normal speed without looking at the text.

Addieren und subtrahieren lernt man schließlich schon in der Grundschule und so ist auch ZEHN MINUS FÜNF IST GLEICH FÜNF keine große Herausforderung für ein Kind. Das Multiplizieren kommt etwas später, es ist aber nützlich: Wenn ich von Oma und Opa und der Tante zum Geburtstag jeweils zehn Euro bekomme, dann habe ich DREI MAL ZEHN IST GLEICH DREISSIG Euro. Auch das Dividieren hat Anwendungsmöglichkeiten im täglichen Leben: Vom Kuchen sind noch sechs Stücke übrig und wenn ich sie mit meinen beiden Geschwistern teilen muss, dann bekommt jeder SECHS GETEILT DURCH DREI IST GLEICH ZWEI Stücke Kuchen.
Das Potenzieren ist dann schon etwas schwieriger: DREI HOCH ZWEI IST GLEICH NEUN und DREI HOCH DREI ERGIBT SIEBENUNDZWANZIG. Und schließlich gibt es da noch das Wurzelziehen: Die QUADRATWURZEL AUS NEUN IST DREI. Aber damit beenden wir für heutige Mathematikstunde.
