Tune, News, Tuesday: The British Y Sound Before OO | Real British English #018
설명
Learners who studied American English say news as NOOZ and Tuesday as TOOZ-day. Then they hear British people say NYOOZ and CHOOZ-day and think there are two different words. Other learners read music or menu from the spelling and say MOO-zik or MEN-oo.
In this episode:
• The y before oo
• Ty becomes ch, dy becomes j
• No y after s and l
• The y that everyone keeps
• Listening lab: tuesday morning
• Practice
• Self-check questions with answers
