Rice and Curry: Lunch Time and the Language of Taste | Spoken Malayalam #059
설명
Lunch in a Kerala home is rice with several curries, and the table talk is all about taste: too spicy, a bit sour, more rice please. English speakers usually translate "This food is delicious" word by word into a long, bookish sentence. At the table nobody talks like that.
In this episode:
• What is on the table
• Calling people to eat
• The five tastes
• Praising, more and enough
• An invented scene: lunch with ammamma
• Language bridge
• Practice
• Self-check questions with answers
