The region has been at war for several years now. ALL the countries involved have been holding talks for over a year to try and end the fighting. The first attempt at peace was rejected within days, but further talks at reaching an agreement have taken place, and now it seems that the two sides are more determined to achieve a lasting peace.

やさしい音色に身をまかせ、きょうのことを思いかえします。
『森』の住人たちが楽器をかなで、歌をうたって、歓迎してくれたこと。
あのときの『森』の住人たちの顔や、それを見まもる どうぶつたちの顔。

「世界をつなげる魔法はなんですか？」
「感動じゃよ」

カンパネラは気がつきました。

カンパネラはとび起き、玄関の戸をあけ、ヨナヨナのもとへ走ります。
サンゴの森のむこうがわ、グルグル林の木の枝に、ヨナヨナは すわっていました。

私の家の近くには小学校があるので、近所の道には子供がたくさん歩いています。日本の小学生は、歩いて学校に通います。家から学校までのルートは「通学路」といいます。通学路は学校が決めます。いちばん人通りが多く、安全なルートです。通学路には、誘拐や寄り道がないように、大人が立っていることもあります。「誘拐」とは、人をどこかに連れて行く犯罪です。「寄り道」とは、どこかに行く途中で、違う場所に行くことです。

There is a primary school near my house, so there are many children walking on the neighbourhood streets. Japanese primary school children walk to school. The route from home to school is called a ‘Tsuugakuro’ (school route). Tsuugakuro is decided by the school. It is the busiest and safest route. Adults may stand on Tsuugakuro to prevent Yuukai and Yorimichi. ‘Yuukai’ (kidnapping) is a crime where a person is taken somewhere. ‘Yorimichi’ (detour, dropping in on the way) is going somewhere different on the way to somewhere else.

今日の午後は筋トレをしました。「筋トレ」とは「筋力トレーニング」の略で、体を強くするための運動のことです。私はジムに行きません。家で筋トレを続けています。私が筋トレを始めたのは、４年ぐらい前です。フリーランスになって、外に出る機会が減ったので、運動をすることにしました。

This afternoon we did Kintore. ‘Kintore’ (strength training) is short for Kinryoku (muscle strength) Tore-ningu (training)’, an exercise to strengthen the body. I don’t go to the gym. I continue to strength train at home. I started Kintore about four years ago. When I became a freelancer I decided to exercise because I didn’t get out as often.

Today, I came across a wedding vow that resonated my thoughts exactly. As an ambitious person, I believe that one must fulfill personal goals before marriage. It is because marriage is a team effort and both individuals must grow before even tying the knot. I will be sharing a love story that started 14 years ago.
