Multiple Choice: Beating the Distractor Trap | IELTS #065
설명
Level B2 (approx. band 5.5-6.5) · Academic and General Training
In Listening multiple choice, you often hear something about every option. The speakers mention A, B and C, and you think: "They all sound right." Or you hear the exact words of option A and choose it at once, only to find that the speaker rejected it a moment later. This is the distractor trap, and it is designed into the task.
In this episode:
• Why every option is mentioned
• Listening for the final choice
• Paraphrased options
• Two-answer questions
• Listening lab
• Language bridge
• Practice
• Self-check questions with answers
Key points:
• every option may be mentioned, so listen for what happens to each one.
• the answer is the option that survives, not the one you heard first.
• exact words are often a trap, and matching meaning is the skill.
• in two-answer questions, cross out and tick as you go, and write two different letters.
