"hamstern" (Zeitwort, abgeleitet von dem Namen des Nagetiers) wird in der deutschen Sprache als Synonym für irrationales Einkaufsverhalten benutzt. Pandemie, Krieg und andere Krisen lassen Menschen die absurdesten Dinge tun wie z.B. einen Vorrat von Toilettenpapier für die nächsten Jahre anlegen... oder eben hamstern.
