설명
One word does two big jobs in Malayalam: ഉണ്ട് means 'there is', and it also means 'have'. This is the Manglish edition of Class 12, taught with the words spelled the way you would type them (undu, illa, enikku). You learn possession with a dative possessor (എനിക്ക് കാർ ഉണ്ട്), location with -il plus undu, the negative ഇല്ല, and undu in the past and the future. Three classic traps are drilled, including aanu versus undu and illa versus alla, with a note on how Russian, Hindi and Tamil build 'have' the same way. Words and phrases in this class: ഉണ്ട് (undu) – there is; have വെള്ളം ഉണ്ട് (vellam undu) – there is water എനിക്ക് കാർ ഉണ്ട് (enikku car undu) – I have a car അവർക്ക് രണ്ട് കുട്ടികൾ ഉണ്ട് (avarkku randu kuttikal undu) – they have two children ഞാൻ വീട്ടിൽ ഉണ്ട് (njaan veettil undu) – I am at home വീട്ടിൽ വെള്ളം ഉണ്ടോ? (veettil vellam undo?) – is there water in the house? എനിക്ക് പൈസ ഇല്ല (enikku paisa illa) – I do not have money ഇല്ല (illa) – no; there is none എനിക്ക് കാർ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു (enikku car undaayirunnu) – I had a car ഉണ്ടാകും (undaakum) – there will be ഞാൻ ടീച്ചർ അല്ല (njaan teacher alla) – I am not a teacher എനിക്ക് സമയം ഇല്ല (enikku samayam illa) – I do not have time അറിയില്ല (ariyilla) – I do not know In this class: • Undu for existence, possession and location • Illa, and why it stands alone as a full sentence • Past undaayirunnu and future undaakum • Three error traps, then a short conversation Quizzes below.
