Но это бывало редко; обыкновенно же дни проходили тихо и спокойно, как будто постройки не было вовсе, и только по вечерам, когда около моста светились костры, ветер слабо доносил песню босяков. И днем иногда слышался печальный металлический звук: дон… дон… дон…
