Condescending Waiter in Starbucks I read a post on social media and it's really infuriating. The person who posted said she planned to meet her mother in Starbucks, but she was so busy at work, so she has to let her mother wait for a while there. Her mother thought she should order something instead of just sitting there. She went to the counter and told the waiter: "Can I have a muffin, please." "A what?" The waiter replied with a annoyed tone. "A muffin." The mother pointed to the muffin, "You see, that little dessert with something like a mushroom on the top." The waiter rolled his eyes and say: "That's not muffin. It's called MYFIFIN (the translated name in Starbucks in China)." And then the waiter asked what flavour she wants. The mother saw there are two flavours, one of them is chocolate and the another one looks like the original flavour, so she answered, "The original one, please." The waiter rolled his eyes again and said impatiently: "There's no original. Only blueberry and chocolate." The mother felt so embarrassed and lost her appetite to eat the muffin. After they went home, the daughter started baking muffin. The mother told the daughter that she'll get laughed if she pronounces like "muffin", and that's when the daughter heard everything happened in Starbucks. The daughter was so angry and planned to report the waiter to the manager. After she posted this thing on the internet, lots of people got infuriated by this condescending and rude waiter. "My mother often told me to be polite to other people when I was a child, but after I'd grown up, I found that not everyone has a mother." "Has this waiter even finished his primary school? How can he not know muffin's correct pronunciation?" "Nowadays, some employees in service business are so rude and arrogant, especially those who work in luxury shops.
