Hello, Here is a question I work on now. The expression "core competents". Gramatically, this is a noun in plural form, as far as I can guess, but I couldn't find in any dictionary that competent can be a noun - please, help me to understand that: if the core competents is an idiom/ a noun/ adjective (can adjective be in plural?)  and which dictionary can I use to see explanation for the issue. Many thanks:)

What is the full sentence? To me, this looks like a typo. Core competence is meaningful but core competents is not.

I believe that should be "core competency" which refers to a skill. A competent would be person with competence
