The evening sun shines brightly, dyeing the city orange. After finishing today's work with my friends. [This is not a sentence. You have three choices: (1) attach it to the previous sentence, (2) attach it to the next sentence, or (3) give it a verb.] I looked out the window at the changing view. (We are riding in a car with a friend driving.)

Since you included "after," the phrase "after finishing today's work with my friends" cannot be a full sentence on its own. Looked "at" means you are viewing the object, such as the window. Looked "out" means you are looking through the window and at the things behind it, like the scenery or view. Nice job!
