I majored in Japanese in my university and learned it for 4years. But I didn’t pass the JLPT of N1. N1 is the highest level for Japanese learners. I just passed N2 then I gave it up. I prefer to practice English rather than Japanese. And also, I uses a lot English at work. So I think I totally forgot how to speak Japanese. Now, I got a child who is interested in Japanese and ask me to teach him. I am a little worried about it. What can I do?

I think you can do it because it's basic Japanese. Revise a little bit, get a good book for kids, some flashcards and picture stories and you'll be set :)

Teach him up to the level you’re comfortable with! Japanese 101-level stuff is super easy to teach, even for a non-native Japanese speaker. Just teach a few words and phrases, Jikoshoukai, some culture, etc. I started tutoring Japanese about 2 years after I started studying it. It’s what got me into teaching, actually. If your student trusts you enough to teach it to them, I’d say go for it!

こんにちは! 日本のアニメを見せたらどうですか?子どもは絵と音で、大人が考えられないくらいたくさん吸収しますよ。私の子どもはスウェーデンで育ちましたが、日本のアニメを毎日たくさん見ているので、言葉をびっくりするぐらい知っていますし、とても自然な日本語を話します😊 子どもの吸収力はすごいですねー!
