If Kamala Harris becomes the president for some reason in Joe Biden's period instead of him, and if she has elected in the next presidential election, is it allowed her to run for the election after next? Because that would literally mean she was president twice.

If Kamala Harris becomes the president for some reason during Joe Biden's period instead of him, and if she is elected on her own in the next presidential election, is it then possible for her to run again for re-election? If so, that would literally mean she was president three times!
Hi Youngman. Good job! As to your inquiry, hmm..., it depends. Under the Twenty-Second Amendment to the Constitution, if she serves less than two years of Biden's term, she can then later serve two full terms as president on her own if elected for a total of approx. 9.5 to 10 years. Therefore, yes, she would be the president during three different times. However, if she serves more than two years of Biden's term, then she can only be re-elected just once for a total of 7 to 7.5 or so years, and thus, would be president just twice. FDR, a Democrat, was elected president four times, which is why the Republicans passed this amendment.
