Creature from Mars
Dear Gurus, Here comes a question about Niagara Falls ;) As I know, Niagara Falls is not just one waterfall, it includes three falls, but I want to use this as a collective name (if I may say so). On the Internet, it's mostly used as a singular noun and does not need 'the'. But, is it, still, singular or plural? So, is the following short dialogue okay: How old is Niagara Falls? - I'm not sure but I guess it's about 11 thousand years old. Thank you.

You're correct; "Niagara Falls" is singular, and takes no article, as "Niagara" is a proper noun. "The United States", is also plural by the way, but takes the definite article, as neither word is a proper noun.
