I have been teaching my son's classmates for almost one year for free. I help them with their learning English twice a week. Because round me, no one teaches for such a long time without money so people say that I should take money from them. I said I never charge them any money. Recently, they got higher scores at school and their parents now give me "thanks" and sometimes give me their contryside's eggs, some snacks or home made yogurts... I am so happy because I can see how much they appreciate my work and the food is good. I feel like my hard work paid off.

I have been teaching my son's classmates for almost one year for free. I help them with their English learning twice a week. Because around me, no one teaches for such a long time without payment, people say that I should take money. I replied that I would never charge anything. Recently, the students scored higher at school and their parents now thank me. Sometimes they even give me their countryside eggs, snacks or home made yogurt... I am so happy to see how much they appreciate my work, and the food is good. I feel like my hard work has paid off. I prefer "English learning" to "learning English" because the former is simpler, with "English" as an adjective and "learning" as a noun. But, both are correct.

I am (so) happy because I can see how much they appreciate my work /effort, and the food is good. I feel like my hard work has paid off. *I presume you mean from chickens they keep themselves [rather than bought from the shop].
