It was sunny today. In the morning, I studied math with Dad, but honestly, I couldn’t focus at all. Meanwhile, Mom took MeeMaw to see a Chinese traditional healer and got a bunch of herbs that were proclaimed to heal anything. I know it sounds ridiculous, but even my "very much scientific" Dad didn’t comment on it. When science fails and doctors give up, we resort to anything that might give us a glimmer of hope. Better than being a sitting duck, right? This winter break is going to be unforgettable - and woeful. Yet, we can’t wail and we must play it off casually. As my dad said, we will have our lifetime to grieve, just not now, not before her "happy goodbye."
