Hi, I need a phrase or verb that can have the following meaning: In Spanish we say: my parnert 'me complementa' or this activity 'me completa ' in the sense that it is what I need, what I lack to be better, to be complete as a person or worker. Should I translate it as : it's complimentary to me ??? Thank you very much indeed

Hi Emar, Yes, I believe 'complementary' is the word you're looking for (Careful with the spelling, 'compliment' is something slightly different!) Although, a more natural way I’ve heard more commonly used when referring to people is in its verb form ‘to complement something/someone’ e.g. ‘I’m very emotional and my partner is more logical. We complement each other quite well’ I'd personally use 'complementary' more when talking about things, tangible or intangible e.g. 'Our personalities are complementary, we really suit each other' It’s just a matter of style though! Hope this sufficiently answers your question. Happy learning :)
