The word “hit” is simply bringing something in contact with something else. "The teachers decided to strike till their demands were met". *It can also have the meaning of being ignited. "Can you strike a match? It's very dark." *It can also be used to say that a person was affected by a strong emotion. "I was struck by the beauty of the lake". -"Hit" is used with the word "up" in casual conversation to make a request for something. Hi Ibo They almost have the same meaning. “Strike” comes from the idea of a stroke (a long, wide movement) whereas “hit” focuses more on the impact, not how the blow was delivered. Hope this makes sense.

I found a definition of "hit" with the word "strike" in it and a definition of "strike" with the word "hit" in it. I think you can usually switch one for the other. To me, "strike" gives the impression of a more powerful blow than "hit".
