Hi to all of the Arabic speakers!
I've got a relatively simple (I hope) question.
I've started reading the One Thousand and One Night in Arabic (just ti practice reading etc.), and in the very first story of Shah Zaman and Shah Riyar there is the following moment that I do not quite understand from the grammar point of view:
أقسمت عليك بالله أن تخبرني بسبب ردّ لونك فأعاد عليه جميع ما رآه
The part that puzzles me is in the end: "أعاد عليه جميع ما رآه" - the first question is: isn't the noun "جميع" supposed to be in the النصب case? i.e. with the Fatha at the top, and since it's منكر (indefinite) in the sentence, the Fatha should be represented graphically as well. So shouldn't it be written as "أعاد عليه جميعاً ما رآه", since "جميع" is مفعول به to the فاعل هو from the verb أعاد.
Another question is ortographical: the "رآه" - it is the result of the verb رأى + the attached pronoun "ه"? Also, just to clarify, this attached pronoun refers back to the "جميع ما" part? Would appreciate if you could elucidate why this pronoun has to be used here too.
Thank you all in advance!

Hello Alex.
"the first question is: isn't the noun "جميع" supposed to be in the النصب case? Yes, and it is indeed منصوبة.
"and since it's منكر (indefinite) in the sentence, the Fatha should be represented graphically as well." Yes, except that جميع is a special word; it's one of the أَلْفاظُ الْعُمومِ (words of inclusiveness). Words like كل and عامة are also instances of ألفاظ العموم.
"So shouldn't it be written as "أعاد عليه جميعاً ما رآه", since "جميع" is مفعول به to the فاعل هو from the verb أعاد." It is مفعول به like you said. But جميعا is حال, not a مفعول به. The مفعول به thereof is جميعَ. Same goes for other ألفاظ العموم like كٌلُّ. We say for example أَنْفَقْتُ كُلَّ النُّقُودِ) and not كُلًّا.
"Another question is ortographical: the "رآه" - it is the result of the verb رأى + the attached pronoun "ه"?" Yes.
" Also, just to clarify, this attached pronoun refers back to the "جميع ما" part? " More precisely, it refers back to ما only.
"Would appreciate if you could elucidate why this pronoun has to be used here too." Generally speaking, in a جملة الصلة like this one, the جملة صلة الموصول (the part that comes after ما) has to contain a ضميرا عائدا على الاسم الموصول, in this case the ه. However, there're cases we can drop this pronoun and the sentence will still be grammatically correct and natural. In the sentence we have here, we can drop the ه, so it becomes فأعاد عليه جميع ما رأى. I can explain it to you more in private if you want, because this particular topic (جملة الصلة وأركانها) is a bit complex.

hello
i don't understand what you mean at first question
cuz that i wil answer the first ques after you explain the first ques i will answer it
the pronoun (ه) refers to الفاعل ... in this sentence we don't know who is the فاعل
do you know الضمير المستتر which mean implied pronoun
in this case like
اكل التفاحة
the verb ( فعل ) is اكل ... the subject (الفاعل) is implied pronoun ... the last thing the object (مفعول به) is التفاحة
i hpe you understand what i mean
