전문 강사The 6 Primary English-Speaking Countries:
English is one of the most widely spoken languages in the world, used daily in many countries. Here’s a quick look at the main ones where English is the primary language.
First up, the United Kingdom, where English originated. The UK includes England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland, each with its own unique way of speaking English.
Next, the United States. It’s the biggest English-speaking country, with almost everyone speaking English, though you’ll hear all sorts of accents and dialects from coast to coast.
In Canada, English is widely spoken, especially in places like Ontario and British Columbia, although French is also an official language there. Canadian English mixes British and American influences.
Australia is another big one. Everyone speaks English, but with a distinct Aussie accent and lots of unique slang. It's an essential part of Australian life.
New Zealand, where they speak Kiwi English, also has its own unique accent. You’ll also hear some Māori words mixed in, reflecting the country’s indigenous culture.
Ireland mostly speaks English too, even though Irish (Gaelic) is also an official language. Irish English has a special charm with its own phrases and accent.
South Africa has a bunch of official languages, and English is one of them. It’s used a lot in business and media, influenced by the country’s diverse cultures.
