Hi friends, Is it okay to use “contained” in the following manner in a sentence? “All the resumes received so far are contained in the attached zip folder.” Thanks in advance, Niwantha

Hi Niwantha, Your sentence is perfectly understandable, but email English tends to favour brevity and my suggestion would be to drop the 'contained' and use "are in the attached". I'd probably use 'file' instead of 'folder'. James

Yes, but it sounds peculiar. I think "stored" would work better. Hope that helps

"Contained in" is perfect! You could also say "included in" You could also simply say "in" or "inside"

Hello Niwantha, Yes, it is perfectly acceptable to use "contained" in the sentence you provided. The sentence conveys that all the resumes received up to the present moment are located or included within the attached zip folder. "Contained" is used as a past participle in this context, indicating that the resumes are enclosed or enclosed within the folder. Overall, your sentence is grammatically correct and effectively communicates the intended meaning. I hope this helps! If you have any more questions, feel free to ask.
