In that area, Maua is known for "the city of workers", because most of residents live there, however they have to travel 2 or even 3 hours to their workplaces, which is a long journey and cause a bad quality lifestyle.

I am from a small town called Maua, in the state of Sao Paulo, Brazil. It is near the city Sao Paulo. Maua has a bunch of different communities and the people are humble. Maua is known as "the city of workers", because most of residents have to commute 2 or even 3 hours, which causes a bad quality of life.

Oi Andre. Maybe "hometown" is more commonly used in the US, but it just sounds a bit repetitive with "town". My "hometown" would be Adelaide, Australia, but it's not a town, it's a city, so "I'm from..." avoids all that. (Maybe I'm just being ridiculously pedantic here!) If it takes 2 or 3 hours to get there, it's not very close! "Different communities" - I imagine the people have different origins or ethnicities? "Commute" - travel to your place of work. I have removed a number of redundant expressions - in particular in business communication, we want to get the message across as quickly and simply as possible. The first line I have rearranged the word order - in general, in English, we want to put the most important things first. In formal business communication, it might be better to write the name of the numbers, (unless it's a really big number!) Please don't worry about mistakes - we can learn from them. Keep practicing.
