Neurons can be grouped into 3 types: Type 1, the sensory neurons which carry information from sensory organs into the central nervous system; type 2, the motor neurons which carry nervous influx from the central nervous system through nerves in order to operate muscles or glands; type 3, the interneurons, which vastly outnumber the other 2 types of neurons, whose function is collecting messages from one set of neurons, integrating the information then passing the information to another one.
