Definitely Lego, I can remember running around having pretend gun battles with my brothers. Those were the days.

I wish I could say legos, but I wasn't that cool. I had a horse puppet that I liked to play with.

My folks (parents) didn't really like legos because they were too small and easy to eat. We used something called "Makeit, Wood Construction Toys". They were pretty cool.

I googled K'nex, it's a children's designer too. It's more technically, composed from a long detail and wheels. It seems what this for construction cars, aircraft and something like that.
