And I would appreciate it very much if my IELTS-teacher suggested some useful literature sources when I started to study for IELTS.

When I started learning English some years ago I used a lot the learning English resources from BBC and from British Council websites. Now, I don't go to websites that are appropriate to learning English anymore. I prefer reading and listening to things in websites about subjects that interest me. For example, I read a lot on www.mindbodygreen.com and www.doyouyoga.com and I also listen to podcasts from Freakonomics and Planet Money (NPR).

http://effortlessenglishclub.com/ I'm not sure if it's concidered an online-resource, but it helps a lot. What I like about this system is that it's 100% audio oriented, and much cheaper than having an online teacher.
