Hola! En España no se llaman idioms, se llaman refranes o frases hechas. Hay miles, y no son realmente cortas. Si me dijeses en qué contexto necesitas hablas, yo te puedo decir algunos "idioms" que se me ocurren ahora:

- Hacer la pelota a alguien (butter someone up)

- Tomar el pelo a alguien (to tease someone)

Te sugiero uno muy usado en la costa norte de Colombia:

"Cuando llueva para arriba"

la forma hablado es mas o menos así " Cuando llueva pa' rriba".

Lo usamos mucho como equivalente de nunca o cuando no tenemos certeza de algún hecho .

Ejemplo:  ¿Cuando viene Pedro? 

                   No se, será el día que llueva pa' rriba.

¿Exactamente cuando viene Pedro? Esa expresión sugiere que tal vez no venga nunca 

well in latin america some of the idioms ( "dichos") get kind o confuse because sometimes the same word means diferent, according to the country where it is used

but dont worry and if ever are going there and you mistake one with another, people would understand 

for example "guagua" is a baby in chile but it is a taxi in another country (I think it is colombia but im not sure) .

if you are interested, In chile we have this common ones :

me estas lesiando - are you kidding me?

cachay - do you understand?

loco , loquillo , weon (kind of a bad word if missused but not really that bad ,depends of the context, just do not use it in formal ocassion tho or in an angry way)  - all means dude 

préstame ropa - when you are in a situation and ask for help from your friend
