Everyone has his own way to learn a new language,, some people might prefer listening to songs and trying to focus on some words and even search for the lyrics. others, prefer to read books..
for me, I like to make myself surrounded with the required language with all the means possible , I change my mobile language to that langugae , I listen to songs , I watch some videos talking about this.
You could share what you do to learn a foreign language and determine how effective your way is !!!

I use to listen to music, I've changed my mobile phone language and I try to talk to myself :/... with the vocabulary I use to write words on posts it and I put them on objects.

I have found Pimsleur's Program to be very effective. I like listening and repeating the vocab. it helps my brain retain it. I used it for Turkish, Welsh and Arabic.

I like to listen to music and then complete the blank spaces (lyricstrainig.com) and I also use monolingual dictionaries. For memorize vocabulary I use Anki application. Comics and podcasts are a good idea too.
