The following article will be written in Modern Online used Cantonese Character.

Don't use the Mandarin that u learnt to think about Cantonese , cuz it is a separate language.

  Cantonese is basically SVO , but sometimes , Particles will be added and some subject will be skipped. Ending Particle will change the mood and the meaning of the sentence. The following example will be used the word EAT sik6 食  as the example. Even though it sound awkward but it is example only sooooo yeh. There are no modification in the verb in Cantonese , just simply add the word to show the meaning of past or future or whatever tense u like.

I eat rice 我食飯 ngo sik fan  SVO  Present

  I ate rice  我食咗飯喇 Ngo sik zo fan la3  PAST ( added the ending particle to represent the mood of the past)   

I will eat rice 我會食飯架啦 ngo wui sik fan gala Future ( added the ending particle to represent the mood of the future)

PS 食飯can also mean have meal , so sometimes people will greet each other with 食咗飯未 sikzo fan mei . (skipped the subject YOU)
