"bloß" kann

1. ein Adjektiv sein und hat dann die Bedeutungen

- nackt, unbedeckt: mit bloßen Armen

- nichts anderes als: bloßes Gerede

2. ein Adverb sein und hat dann die Bedeutung "nur": Ich habe bloß 5 Euro.

A good way to improve is searching for example sentences – spoken from native Germans – and trying to find the underlying purpose of using “bloß”. By the way, I think “bloß” is more often used in spoken than in written German.</font>
