Spend time for my family? Spend time for studying? Is " spend ... for" right in these sentences? Thank you!
I know there are two structures of Spend.
1. Spend time/ money on something: I spend time on shopping.
2. Spend time/ money doing something: I spend money buying him a T-shirt.
But Is it right to say: Spend time on my family?
I am not sure about this so I often say: Spend time for my family.

Richard is right. That would be better to be expressed in that way.

I would say that spending time on your family means that you are spending time (using your time) to do something for (to benefit) your family, e.g., I am spending my time on my studies or spending time on my chores.
But if you are simply visiting your family then you are spending time with your family.
"with" is the more commonly used preposition in this example.
