Hola Soffy,

I did want to add one comment with respect to your first example, where you wrote “Lucas' brother is nice.”

According to Garner’s Modern American Usage, To make Lucas a possessive noun, you would add an apostrophe and s [’s]. The correct way to write that sentence would be “Lucas’s brother is nice.” Also, you WOULD pronounce the second s so it would sound like “Lucases”.

Garner suggests that there should only be three exceptions to this rule:

1. The possessives of personal pronouns (ours, yours, its, theirs) do not take an extra apostrophe and s.

2. Biblical and Classical names that end in the zes or eez sound, take only an apostrophe (jesus’ suffering).

3. In corporate names that end in s, add only the apostrophe (Starbucks’ coffee is addicting).

I hope that is useful for you, Soffy! I see you are from Ecuador. Say hi to my friends in Cuenca please :)

Also, if you would like to connect with my through italki to learn more, I would be happy to help you!

i have to tell you about some linguistic mistakes , 3 : 'a good soccer player' because 'better' is used for comparison (better than)

8 : 'Magui's brother's cooking is delicious' i think that this is better , and this is just an addition for n°9 : you can also say 'are at home' because it depends on your view if you are talking about the members themselves you can consider the family as a plural , and finally, n°12 : if you meant 'the classmates' is a plural it's correct but if you meant 'the books' is a plural it becomes classmate's books as the final sentence :)
