Parent or Parents?
I would like to know which of these is exactly correct or is both allowed ? I see people use parent and also as parents in day to day communication. Is single mother or father called parent and boht called parents? Please clarify.........Thank you

One parent or two parents. One is singular the other plural.

Yes, a father or a mother is referred to as a parent. Both of them together are referred to as parents.
