Hello, Tori, although it's a discussion not a short composition, there are a few mistakes in your post I'd like to correct.

The mesure word of 事情 would be 件, plz always say 这件事情，几件事情 etc. instead of 这<font style="background-color: rgb(255, 0, 0);">条</font>事情, there is no exception forever.

I don't know if your watch English series, but i believe you know 'season' and 'episode', like season 2 episode 3 of Westworld. In Chinese it means 西部世界的第二部第三集, so 部 (replaceable with 季 ) and 集 are completely different.
